DirecTV set the industry standard in providing content choice and signal reliability and this facility played a key role in fulfilling those accomplishments. Continual operations are assured by separate, dual electrical and mechanical systems. This "system plus system" design provides for complete redundancy of all critical facility components and allows for preventative maintenance, system testing, repair, and replacement of components without interruption to content broadcasting. Energy efficiency is achieved by utilizing dry cooler technology. In addition to the robust mechanical and electrical systems, this facility has a broadcast operations center, computer equipment room, facilities operations, RF lab, offices, and an attached generator building. In the computer equipment room, the raised floor is utilized to provide pressurized cold air distribution while a suspended cable tray system is located above the equipment racks for cable management.
